Help Maimah Karmo Win $25,000 as L’Oreal Paris Woman of Worth

by Ladybrille Magazine on November 15, 2009 No Comment

MaimahMaimah Karmo should be a household name for you our Ladybrille loyal readers. We have featured her too many times to count because she keeps doing things that are newsworthy and highly important for women. We mentioned not too long ago that L’Oreal Paris awarded Maimah Karmo, among a handful of phenomenal women, the prestigious Women of Worth Award. The award was the result of Maimah’s work in raising awareness about the challenges young women diagnosed with breast cancer face. As a recipient of the award, she  and her organization Tigerlily Foundation (an organization that educates, advocates, empowers and provides support and services to young women with breast cancer) will receive $5,000.

However, Tigerlily Foundation now has the opportunity to win an additional $25,000!

Maimah Karmo tell us, “Winning an additional $25,000 donation would mean that we will be able to do additional outreach and services to young women in need.” You can vote now at http://www.womenofworth.com/home/home.aspx.

As a side note, Maimah reminds us “a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes. Young women in particular, have more aggressive breast cancers and higher mortality rates. Awareness and early detection could save a young woman’s life.”

Hurry guys, voting ends November 24, 2009!
