Yemi Blaq Wins Celebrity Takes 2 Season 2, Nigeria’s Dancing with the Stars

by Ladybrille Magazine on January 24, 2010 2 Comments

These days, Africa-especially the country Nigeria- has many replicas of a lot of the popular reality TV shows enjoyed in the West. One popular show is Celebrity Takes 2, think Dancing with the Stars (USA) or Strictly Come Dancing (UK). Celebrity Takes 2 Season 2 just wrapped up and this season was packed with as much fun and excitement as that of its foreign counterparts! Last season a hot Nigerian model and beauty pageant winner Omowunmi Akinnifesi emerged winner. This season who would have “tonk it” that a Nollywood star with a build more like American Football player Emmit Smith, Yemi Blaq, would win? Not many.

Blaq shocked many with his flexibility and fluidity on the dance floor. Nevertheless, many were still expecting another Nollywood celebrity Stella Damasus Nzeribe to win. Nzeribe’s strength on the dance floor, even lifting her male dance partner in one episode was simply amazing, funny, exciting and won crowds over. At the end of the day, Yemi ultimately brought home the win. Congratulations to Yemi Blaq! Watch the video clip below and see both Nzeribe and Blaq at their finest.

Funlola Aofiyebi won the first season not Omowunmi Akinifesi even though i felt Omowunmi was the deserving winner.
