On June 7th, 2010, Supermodel Iman will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards. To celebrate her achievement, high end retailer Barneys plans to dedicate two of its windows in its Madison Avenue flagship store to the Supermodel.
According to WWD, the project will be directed by Barneys New York creative director Simon Doonan. One of the windows will feature collages of Iman’s s career, while the other will include a Bruce Weber portrait of Iman matched with select quotes from her husband and other fashion and entertainment personalities.
“I was absolutely terrified of her because she is so regal and beautiful but the minute we got off the set, we bonded wildly. We’re both immigrants; she just happens to be twice my height,” said Doonan in his interview to WWD.
Barneys unveils its installation on May 11th, 2010.
